Joseph Salomonsen has been appointed Head of Democratic Resilience, which includes Plattform, Dembra and education. He has previously worked with migration, integration, knowledge development and knowledge dissemination at the directorate level from 2012-2020, and is now researching integration and policy development. His PhD project is entitled: “Migration policy in turbulent times”. Previously, he has researched and published on Islam, jihadism and terrorism.

Ingunn Tønnevold
Ingunn Tønnevold joined ARKIVET in 2019. She is a trained teacher (lektor) from the University of Agder with a background in history and social sciences, and wrote her master’s thesis on the prevention of radicalization in schools. At ARKIVET, she has, among other things, worked with teaching and been project manager for DEMBRA Region South, before taking up the position as head of PLATTFORM in September 2023.

Birgit Amalie Nilssen
Birgit Amalie Nilssen joined ARKIVET in 2021 after 15 years as theatre director, first at Haugesund Teater and later at Kilden Teater. Amalie has experience as a journalist, social commentator, scriptwriter, and director. She is responsible for the public programme and works to strengthen ARKIVET’s role as a social actor and to make it a natural meeting place for the entire population.

Erik Fredheim
Erik Fredheim joined ARKIVET in 2024 and currently works as an educator and Dembra advisor. In his role, he is engaged in educational outreach with children and youth, as well as providing guidance to schools through the Dembra programme. In June 2025, he took over as Head of Education and is now responsible for ARKIVET’s educational programmes.
Erik has 17 years of experience from primary and lower secondary school. During this time, he has held various roles and responsibilities, including serving as a homeroom teacher for grades 3 through 10. He holds qualifications in pedagogy, physical education, Norwegian, English, religion, ICT, guidance, and leadership.

Kjetil Homane Grødum
Kjetil Homane Grødum is a researcher at ARKIVET, with an academic background in psychology, political science, and the sociology of religion. In 2012, he earned his PhD based on a study of the judicial process following the genocide in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge regime. His work focuses on transitional justice after mass human rights violations, as well as issues related to radicalisation and violent extremism.

Kristine Sandsmark
Kristine Sandsmark joined ARKIVET in 2024 and works as an educator and Dembra advisor. She has 11 years of experience from schools in Oslo, having worked both at the lower secondary and upper secondary levels. Kristine holds a degree as a qualified teacher (lektor) from the University of Oslo, with a background in social studies, religion, and Norwegian, and she has additional training in second language pedagogy.

Oscar Strøm-Jensen
Oscar Strøm-Jensen is one of our educators, and leads educational modules for visiting school classes of all ages. He is a teacher by education, with his master’s degree in social science at the University of Agder. He’s also qualified to teach history and physical education. Prior to ARKIVET, he worked as a high school teacher.
