Karianne Hansen is a historian educated in England and Scotland, specializing in Holocaust history and World War II. She recently earned her PhD in history from the University of Leicester with a dissertation titled “The Nation in the Barrack: Norwegian Experiences and Identity in the Nazi Camps, 1942-1945.”
She was hired as an advisor for Fanger.no at ARKIVET in 2024. There, she is responsible for designing a research project on Norwegian prisoner history, contributing to the academic work at Fanger.no, and developing national and international collaborations related to the platform.
