In 1935, a modern state archive opened in the building. During the Second World War, it became known as the &#8220;stronghold of torture&#8221; through almost 3.5 years as the headquarters of the Gestapo. Since 2001, the building has housed a peace and human rights center.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below we give you an overview of different parts of our history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<section 8, 1935.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"wp-block-site-select-posts__list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/arkivet.no\/en\/gestapo-headquarters\/\" police.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"wp-block-site-select-posts__list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/arkivet.no\/en\/resistance-fighters-in-captivity\/\"
